Let us introduce ourselves
Aashritha Kausani: A 70 years old cottage, which is a blend of the traditional Kumaoni & British style of architecture. It was home, for Swami Anand, for more than half his lifetime. Swami Anand, an industrialist and philanthropist from Gujarat and a contemporary of Mahatma Gandhi, who had renounced the worldly life, was instrumental for Mahatma Gandhi’s visit to Kausani. With the Swami also stayed the IAS, grand-daughter of Mahatma Gandhi.
This cottage also housed the world-renowned journalist and intellectual, Late Mr. Nikhil Chakravorty.
Within nature
At a height of 6,200 feet (1,890 metres), Kausani offers a majestic and unobstructed view of the Himalayas –, over 300 kms stretch of the ranges, towering majestically over the lush, green and fertile Garur valley. The snow–capped peaks shining against the azure sky make the horizon as seen from Kausani an enviable spectacle. The glory of the Himalayan range reaches it pinnacle when the sunrays turn them into crimson and gold.
Kausani is ideal for those who seek escape from the din and dust, hustle and bustle of big cities and wish to spend a quiet holiday in the lap of nature.
Best time to visit Kausani: March to June and September to December.
